Exposition on Ch. 1: Zidane is Sore
That's about as creative a title as you are going to get. I just couldn't think of anything for tonight. XP
My computer is showing signs of acting up again, so let's make this quick. Midgar=new background. If you've ever seen "Jackie Chan Adventures", you can sorta see where I'm getting the background from.
Zidane looks more like Zidane in today's installment, and the curse cloud is back, heh! I also like how Cloud's cape turned out.
Don't forget--we had 11 different authors for this project. If one day's narrative style sounds different from another's, that's probably because it is.

Exposition on Ch. 1: Teaming Up
Man oh man, where do I start?
I guess an apology is good. I apologize for not announcing an official holiday sabbatical. After all, what do you do when your computer dies completely? Apparentally, my scanner got mad when I got it under control, so it conspired with my computer, and I lost everything.
Fortunately, everything FF: Survivor related survived, which is a HUGE relief on my part. (To say nothing of my original art folders--I would have been very upset, had I lost those.)
My sabbatical was only supposed to last as long as the end of the holiday season or as long as it took to fix my computer, whichever came last. Unforunately, complete wipe-age of the computer means all loss of passwords, so I was unable to upload for the past few days. My fault. ^^;
Oh, right, the exposition!
So here we finally have the breakdown of the teams. Cloud is the captain of the Avalanche team, while Zidane commands the Tantalus crew. As hinted at before, the breakdown could be seen as early as the Chapter Image--with Avalanche's people bearing blue dropshadows, and Tantalus' red.
There was an incredible amount of text, which I really didn't want to squeeze into the image, being that it was mostly explanation of the challenge. So I cut it short, and prayed that you would read the text. If you don't, you won't miss too much, but try and see if you can guess where the three clues lead.
Today's image might seem kind of weird, because I had scanned it in at full color versus b/w, to capture Arpix's coloring (more on Arpix in a sec). Cloud and Zidane look especially greenish.
Now for the copyright parts. Both the image of the Highwind and Midgar come straight from the FFVii Player's Guide. Arpix is a character that appeared recently in "Chasing the Sunset", and if you want to see why Arpix is playing a cameo in FF:S, then run over to here. Thanks to Mithandar and Alien for letting me borrow the creature. ^_^
Till next time--which I hope will be Friday, but I've learned not to make promises anymore. Not till I get a better computer. ^_~

Exposition on Ch. 1: Picky, Picky
Sorry, scanner's broke again. So we'll go on yet another hiatus now and--
GOTCHA!
Heh. Actually, my scanner did give me a scare, but I fixed it quick, so no biggie.
You'll notice that today's page has a pretty heavy influence of manga. I didn't mean for it to, but it just sorta came out that way. As usual, I didn't like this page when I first started it, but I feel it came out rather well.
Cloud gets today's award for Most Angsty and Dirty Looks. Heh.

Exposition on Ch. 1: "Of What I Really Am..."
Today is a matter of fond memories...sorta.
The title of today's, for instance. There's a really long story behind it, but bottom line, I got to hear that song by Nickelback recently, and I thought it sorta fit for Sephiroth.
The others are the images I yanked right from Final Fantasy Vii. We all remember that famous scene, when Sephiroth halted the summoning of Holy (and if you don't know what I mean by that, then I can't tell you). I don't care too much for the placement of the final Aeris picture, but the multiple shot of Sephiroth dropping from above was nifty. I feel that got its point across.
I used the famous power of Copy and Paste AGAIN (so lazy, lol). Overall, I enjoyed today's page--came out better than I had hoped.
And yes, you get to see Cid's announcement of the teams very soon. I know it sounds as if we already passed that part, but we haven't--we're coming to it.

Exposition on Ch. 1: Clingy
Well, I like some parts of today's and other parts I don't. As always, heh.
Originally, Auron was going to be in the first panel, so you could see who Rikku was running to. But Freya was already crowding the scene up and you could guess from the red edge balloon, sooooo...
I also tweaking some of the original writing from the three entries included in today's strip. Mostly just removed the continous (repetitive) citation of Cid reading the teams off. I also threw a lot of Rikku's "teehees" out (sorry, KittyLynn).
Once again, we do NOT condone a AuronxRikku storyline here, so would someone kindly thwap Zidane and Zell and let us get on with the comic already?
Till next update! ^_~
(And happy late B-day, BBaka/Zell!)

Exposition on Chapter 1: Airship Rumble and Ch. 1: Whose Fault?
YES! WE'RE BACK!
AGAIN!
I sorta know what I did to make my scanner behave again, which is good--1oo less dollars to lose over the holidays. Now let's just hope it behaves for another few months, so we can get through the first few challenges.
Our next page will show us how the teams get divided more or less (though the Chapter Image will also provide that information, if you look closely) and the challenge forthcoming. Doesn't that just sound all dramatic. ^^;
Anyways, thanks to everyone for their patience and support.
And if anyone knows how to do the mailto: HTML tag, please let me know.

Exposition on End Prelude
Yes, we're back, we're back! With a big helping hand from Jeff Breyer, we're back!
Originally, I had planned to put some clips from early comics as part of a patchwork background, but ditched that in favor of PhotoShop goodness. I'll save the patchwork for next time.
I'll also decided to step off the offical update schedule. FFS will update when it can and not when it can't.
And finally, I've almost finished FFX-2. I missed a lot of stuff, though, so New Game+, here I come!
